    Château Lyonnat | Charlotte Milhade & Valentin
    Het oude domein Château Lyonnat wordt in 1961 overgenomen door Jean Milhade, die meteen de bevoorrechte locatie van het landgoed zag. Vier generaties later is het Charlotte Milhade en haar echtgenoot Valentin die aan het hoofd van het domein van 52 ha staan. Gelegen op het hoogste punt van Lussac-Saint-Emilion zijn de wijngaarden vooral gelegen op kalksteen, vergelijkbaar met het aanpalende Saint-Emilion. De rest van de wijngaarden liggen op kleikalkbodems.

    De meest aangeplante druif is de merlot (90% van de aanplant) aangezien deze hier perfect rijp kan worden wat voor de cabernet sauvignon en -franc (samen 10% van de aanplant) niet elk jaar geldt. Om de kwaliteit van de wijnen te verbeteren werd de plantdichtheid in de wijngaard verhoogd en wordt tijdens het groeiseizoen een deel van de trossen verwijderd. De stijl van het huis wordt gekenmerkt door ronde en zachte wijnen.

    Wine Enthousiast: 91p "Consultant Hubert de Bouärd has given this wine a velvey texture as well as rich wood and spice flavors. The wine is generous, full bodied and dense with black fruits. The blend, with 90% Merlot, comes from one of the largest vineyards in Lussac. Drink this rich wine from 2020."

    Vertdevin: 92p "The nose is fruity, elegant, structured and quite precise. It reveals notes of blackberry and cassis associated with fine notes of strawberry jam, spice as well as discreet woody notes. The palate is fruity, mineral, racy and offers freshness, harmony as well as a nice, unctuous and slightly silky matter. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blueberry and cassis associated with a hint of plum jam as well as a touch of licorice and a few slight oaky notes. Tannins are fine and well built. Good length."
